DISTRICT NEWS

Participants at the Augsburg Lutheran District’s constituting convention elected officers (the executive committee) and board members on July 18, 2001. Pastor Mark Jamison of Lake Lillian, MN, was elected Presiding Pastor on the third ballot. Lenae Rasmussen of Clarksville, TN, was elected Executive Chair on the second ballot. Rev. James Culver, Jr. of Stendal, IN, was elected Secretary on the second ballot. and Paul Hansen of Elk Horn, Iowa, was elected Treasurer on the third ballot. A four person board of trustees was elected on one ballot: Deb Jacobson of Elk Horn, IA; John Leistad of Elk Horn, IA, Phil Schoner of Half Moon Bay, CA; and Celeste Waymire, Treynor, IA.

The Executive Committee has appointed John Rasmussen to chair the Doctrine and Church Relations committee, John Fahning to chair the Ministry committee, Mike Williams to chair the Membership committee, and Amy Williams to chair the Communications committee. We are still seeking a chair for the Education and Worship committee and the Stewardship and Finance committee.
