The organization and relation of LCMC
and the Districts with the Congregations,

based on the way the Christian Church operated according to Scripture, particularly in Acts and the various Epistles.

  • Self-governing
  • Active in Mission
LCMC
  • Broad Confessional Statement
  • Pension & Health Plan

The Circle

  • The circle indicates that we are in Christ and He is in us. The solid line indicates the power of God and His Word.
  • At the top of the circle: Christ, the Word made flesh, is the Head of the Church. Jesus' fulfillment of the law, his death and resurrection, is central to our redemption; so the Cross is centered at the top of the circle. The Word also indicates the proclaimed Word of the LORD.
  • Also around the circle: We are based in and on Scripture. We agree with the writings in the Book of Concord. Based in Scripture, they give a true witness to our faith .
  • The anchor indicates that we are not blown off course by false teachings.

The Triangle within the Circle

  • The lines connecting the Congregation, Districts, and LCMC indicate the relationship or purpose of being connected.

Congregations

  •  We are a congregationally based organization of Lutheran churches. This is why the Congregation is depicted at the top of the triangle. Each Congregation decides if they want to be a member of a District for fellowship.
  • Each Congregation decides if they want to be a member of LCMC to network .
  • Each congregation agrees with the Confessional Statement of LCMC and/ or a District which they choose for fellowship.

Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC)

  • LCMC provides a Broad Confessional Statement for agreement in networking our faith journeys.
  • LCMC provides a Health & Pension plan in which pastors and congregation employees may participate.
  • LCMC plans and organizes an Annual Convention.

Districts

  • Districts are formed by congregations who gather together for fellowship.
  • Each District adopts their own Confessional Statement which may be more detailed and specific, but agrees with the broad confessional statement of LCMC.
  • Each District is self-governing.

Training of Pastors, Teachers, and Leaders will be provided through networking.
Being members of LCMC, the Districts agree with the broad Confessional Statement of LCMC.
Districts may participate in the Health & Pension plan, and the congregations of the Districts are encouraged to attend the LCMC Annual Convention.
